The Kiddies have FINALLY settled in!!!!

Well i woke up a few minutes later this morning with a feeling of impending doom in my stomach. Today was the first day back in school after the weekend and from the last 2 weeks experience i would say that i HATE Monday mornings! But not today......on no......my kids decided to surprise by waking up with smiles on their faces. My daughter spent the whole 45 minutes saying "mummy i want to go to playgroup NOW!" and my son who normally spends the same 45 minutes telling me he's not going to school said nothing at all (which i take as a good sign). So i spent the 45minutes in a frantic mess trying to get them ready and out the door and surprisingly we were on time!

I dropped the little lady off first as i always do and as we drove away she waved out the window with a HUGE smile on her face and before we were even gone she was gone to play with her little Pals. Then i took the little man to his school and as we walked around to his class there was silence between us. I felt that all was not good but we went into his class and he sat in his chair. I said to him "ok i'm going now little man" and he just said "Ok bye mommy"!

My babies have become children and have taken their first little steps to letting me go. It's not a nice feeling but it isn't a bad one either. I've realised that my babies have become children and are some day going to be adults and it's bitter sweet. I'm beginning to think that i am the one who is going to have problems letting go!

Killing Facebook??

I heard some very worrying news today! Apparently a hacking group called anonymous is planning to take down facebook in November......... a related article can be found here..... http://rt.com/news/facebook-anonymous-destroy-privacy/

While I understand that we're all human and have a cause, this really concerns me as a business trying to take flight. I just opened a facebook page and my fan base is steadily rising. November, when they plan to do it, is just before Christmas and the busiest time for ALL retail business. If the big guys are gonna be affected by this what about us little guys who are using Facebook as our main way to network and grow our little businesses!!!!!! How will this affect us:o(

Time really does fly by!

I can't believe it! My baby boy is starting school in 13 days and my baby girl is starting playschool in 6 days:o( Where did the last 4 years and 11 months go!!!! I was playing with both of them here yesterday and i started getting really sentimental. I kept getting little pictures in my head of the days that they were born and it REALLY DID FEEL LIKE YESTERDAY. I try to cherish every single second with them even when they're giving out to me ........which happens quite a bit.....LOL, but it seems the more time that goes by the faster the time starts to go. Somebody told me that when they start school that's when the time REALLY starts to fly by. My mornings will be quiet and i will find PLENTY to do but i'll miss the little laughs. But then they'll be home in the afternoons and i'll be wondering why i wrote this.......LOL!

For all you new mummys, cherish the nightfeeds and the constant nappy changes and the winding and all the things that are HARD work because your time will fly by too and even though it doesn't feel like it now, because you feel half dead, but you will genuinely miss these things when you're babies are no longer babies..........but preschoolers!

Busy Busy Busy!

Ok so this week I've been taking on the world and losing miserably:o( I'm trying to get everything in order and it's really hard. Sometimes i wish i hadn't taken the year off cos i really feel like I'm starting again. I started a new Facebook fanpage and i'm trying to find out how to attach it to my blog amongst other things. I'll work it out..........eventually!

Anyway, on a lighter note i've been busy making more stuff and I have a great photographer in the states who's gonna take pictures of them on actual babies so that's really positive because then people will have a better ida of what they're buying. It was never gonna work with my photography skills! I'm attaching a pic of one of my masterpieces......enjoy!

Going to start working on building up a few tutorials on this blog so you guys have something useful from coming here. Chat soon.......

SO i've been working on some new designs, i have my craft room organised and I've just opened my new Zibbet store......yipee!!! I also sell with etsy but i'm finding that it's so saturated over there that it's really not worth my while anymore:o( Everytime i list something it just gets drowned out within the first few minutes so that's the reasoning for me trying Zibbet.

So as i said i've been working on new designs and i really love them so i hope other people think so and buy them! Let me know what you think:o)

What a Year..........PHEW!!!!

So I decided that that's it...............i'm blogging again:o) I'm a whole year older and i CAN'T BELIEVE that i haven't done this since January 2010! I had the craziest year ever. I got married last September and I spent most of the year preparing for that. I made everything and I mean EVERYTHING related to my wedding (well slight exageration cos i didn't make the clothes). My crafting craze really helped me out. I had so much fun doing it. I'd love to do someone elses wedding cos it was such a pleasure. I sat down on the day of my wedding and I couldn't believe all that i had done. And talk about saving money! I don't understand where all the high price tags come from when the word "wedding" is mentioned. I did it for a fraction of the price and i had the BEST DAY EVER...........and some of my guests said it was the best wedding they were ever at.........which was an added little pleasure in itself:o)

Anyway, I've decided that this blog is gonna contain everything there is to know about being me.......a stay at home mom with a passion for making stuff. Unfortunately with the year that i gained I also gained 24lbs so i'm on a mission to try and lose that. SHould make for interesting reading!

My New Year Resolution Update!

Well as i said there were a few things on my list but the top of the list was to LOVE my Etsy store and i'm sticking to it:o) I listed LOADS of new stuff yesterday and i have loads more made. I just have to get the pics. Take a look people. Give me some feedback cos i'd love to hear what you all think.

The rest of the resolutions aren't working out so well. My chore list has been pushed to the backburner for the moment. I've been so busy with the kids and crafting that the house needs a load of love now......LOL!!!! I also said that i would paint my upstairs but that just isn't gonna happen any time this month:o( Oh well!!!

I'm getting back to sorting some more pictures. THis etsy stuff is not for the fainthearted and that's for sure! It needs a LOT of dedication but i'm there so i just wanna sell some stuff! Wanted to list another tutorial but my computer is sick and i'm on my S.O.s! I'll make the next one worth the wait though!

As i said in the title.......my craft room is rearranged and looking gorgeous if i do say so myself:o) It took me a coupe of days as i was unorganised so i have it totally sorted. All my ribbon and supplies are categorised as well. It's a pleasure to be in there. I can't wait to get crafting away in it.

On a happy note, i had my first sales of 2010 today. I've been really busy listing and renewing items so somebody noticed:o) Feel free to take a look whenever you get the time. Snow!

So it snowed the other day and it hasn't snowed since but everywhere is still white! It's completely frozen solid. I'm getting cabin fever. It's gonna be like this for the next few days so i beeter get used to it:o( I'm using this time to my advantage. I've inventoring everything in my crafting studio so it's organised. I found some gorgeous printed ribbon i forgot i even had:o) It was like finding money! I'm gonna use it to make some lovely little tuxedo bow clippies.

Roll on 2010!

So we're in the eve of the New Year and like everyone else i have fantastic intentions for 2010! I have decided that i'm going to paint the whole upstairs of my house and stick to my chore list everyday. I'm also gonna give my Etsy store loads and loads of love and attention so i will definately be crafting like a crazy woman! Keep you eyes open for loads of new stuff.. I have a million ideas already in mind:o)

My blog is also on the resolution list so prepare to see plenty of new updates and i'll be adding tutorials as i find them. I have Loads already saved to my favourites so i'll be adding them first. I'll also be blogging about my life with my 2 crazy babies! Should be a laugh for all you mummies out there. Let's just say that i'm no Brie Vandecamp! So a Happy New Year to you all and i'll chat to ya in 2010:o)

I decided last week that it was time to bite the bullet and make some bows. I took out some instructions i bought months and months ago and i made a little boutique bow which i'm quite proud of! When i made that one i cut about 80 more pieces of ribbon and got them ready and practiced and practiced until my hands were sore! I am very proud to say that i got feedback from some bonafide bow makers and they think my bows are very good so i'm confident enough to offer them in my etsy store. They are itty bitty bows measuring 1.5" and they come in a huge assortment of designs and colours. Keep your eyes peeled bow lovers cos they're coming to my etsy store as soon as the photography allows:o) :o)

Ok so, i spent the last couple of days getting my Etsy listings ready for my store! Ladies, there are some real little cuties in there and looking at the photos i can't help but feel a bubble of pride in my belly (well i hope it's pride...LOL). I want to wait and put them all up together so please keep your eyes peeled cos there will be a tornado of new clippies and bands coming in this week:o) I've given a little taster!

Ok so i went and stayed with my friend fot the weekend which means........... i got absolutely NOTHING done.! Do ya ever just have times like that??? I always have the greatest intentions to get it all done and 2 weeks later i'm still no closer:o( I wanted to get my Etsy shop all stocked up last week and it's still empty! I've taken pictures of a lot of my stuff and edited them and got them ready but they're just sitting on my laptop cos i always find listing items time consuming.. Oh well, maybe i'll get it all done this week..........like i said.........Great intentions:o)

SO i've had a very very quiet couple of weeks! I haven't done one thing on the crafting front so i'm totally looking forward to getting loads done over the next few days. I have all sorts of ideas for clippies that i wanna make. I should be writing all down but i haven't even had the time to do that. On the bright side..........my car is spotless. I was like a psycho cleaning lady this evening cleaning it. I was sitting on the pavement outside my house on the ground with my vacuum cleaner cleaning the mats from inside the car and people kept grinning at me as they walked past. In my defense, my car was never so dirty. It took me all of 3 hours to clean it!!!!!!!!!! Oh well, told ya i had no news.LOL!!!! Back again tomorrow and hopefully i'll have 50 million clippies made............sigh!

It is EXTREMELY easy to make and they're definately the softest headband you could possibly have for a baby or toddlers little head. I can tell you that my one year old doesn't even know she has it in her hair when she wears it. Totally comfortable and silky soft:o)

So i had a stand at the Viking Festival in Annagassan, Co. Louth today. It went so well and i'm delighted with the outcome of the day. Not only did i sell loads but i met some of the nicest people who were so encouraging! It was definately a confidence booster and i'm so proud of all my lovely products.

I worked really hard for the last 2 weeks and i got a lot made and while i was at it i made a LOAD of new stuff for my Etsy store so keep your eyes peeled for that:)

I know i've been totally quiet the last few days. I have a show coming up this weekend and i've been working non stop to get everything ready. I'm planning on having all my cute creations e.g., clippies. headbands, woven headbands and all the rest:)

My cupcake appliques arrive this morning. THey are so totally pretty and i can't wait to work with them.

So here they are in all their glory:) I'm proud of these lil guys cos they're totally made by me. I handcut about 20 of each different style and hand sewed them all together. Once i actually got to sit down to it they didn't take long to make and i have to blow my own trumpet and say that they're totally cute!

Well today i had a pretty productive day:) I finished my felt flowers...........yipee.......but i haven't taken pics yet......boo!!!!!!! Keep a look out for them though because it's just a matter of getting my camera out which i'll do tomorrow (toddlers permitting.....LOL).

The flowers were unbelievably easy to make. I just hand cut flower shapes from felt. I put 2 together and sewed around them with embroidery floss in complimetary colours. I'm really looking forward to getting them on my clippies and into my Etsy store.

Anyway, enough of my yabbering and until tomorrow, nitey nite;)

Well with all my good intentions yesterday i managed to get nothing done! I was laid up in bed all day with the flu:( I thought i'd get myself out of bed and motivated to get some stuff done but i came half way downstairs and went straight back up them again!

On a lighter note though i feel MUCH better today and i'm raring to go. I'm gonna get all my felt flowers finished and i want to get my tuxedo bows done as well. We'll see how it goes though....LOL! Look out for pictures. I hand cut them and sewed around them and they're coming out really cute:)

Ok so, it's my first day and this is my first post! For anyone that sees this drop back cos i'll be adding loads once i figure it all out. I have great plans for today. I'm going to finish my little felt flowers i've been making. I'll post some pics of them once i get them done but i gotta tell ya, they're ultra pretty. I cut them all by hand and it took a while but i can't wait to get them stuck on my little clippies. I'll be putting them in my Etsy store.

I'm trying to get loads of stuff made for my Etsy store so check back there too cos there'll be loads and loads going on it and you can kit your lil princess out with the prettiest little hair accessories! Well signing off for today but i'll be back tomorrow with some news and pictures;)
